BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference officially opened the 2013 football season with its annual SWAC Football Media Day.
The event was held at the Birmingham Marriott and featured several components including the All-SWAC Preseason Team announcement with a live video and radio broadcast stream.
"The Southwestern Athletic Conference would like to thank the Birmingham Marriott, our member institutions' administrative staff, head coaches, student-athletes and media for attending SWAC Football Media Day," SWAC Commissioner Duer Sharp said. "With the addition of several components, we aimed for increasing the interaction between coaches, student-athletes and the media. We want to continue to produce a memorable event to kickoff our athletic seasons."
The SWAC released a pair of public servce initiatives to highlight the conference member institutions and to promote the upcoming 2013 Toyota SWAC Football Championship in Houston, Texas on December 7.
