Lady Bulldogs finish sixth at Wildcat Invitational

DeLand, Florida– The Lady Bulldog Bowlers completed their second tournament of the season this weekend at the Third Annual Wildcat Invitational.

There were 11 visiting teams that traveled to the Sunshine State, with the 12th team being the host Bethune Cookman Wildcats. Five teams ranked in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 20 poll. 
 
The nation's top-ranked team, Arkansas State headlined the field, followed by third-ranked Central Missouri, No. 16 Alabama State, No. 18 Monmouth and No. 19 McKendree.

The Lady Bulldogs had a fair tournament ending with a (2-3) record. They were able to defeat Southern University and North Carolina A&T.
 
Nicole Kleuutgen led the team as she finished 11th among all bowlers with a high game of 212, two games over 200, 974 pins in five games and averaged 194.8 over the three days.
 
Three Lady Bulldogs Bowlers also placed in the top 20 in individual standings. Rebecca Goodwin, Ariel Dowdy, and Camille Collins all bowled a total of over 900 for the five games.

The Maroon and White finished sixth out of the 12 teams.

Central Missouri took home the tournament title with two victories over runner-up Arkansas State on the final day. For the Jennies, it was their first appearance in the Wildcat Invitational, as well as for the Red Wolves. It would be Arkansas State's Sarah Lokker collecting the individual tournament MVP award, stepping away from the tournament sporting a 217 average.
