A&M Softball opens home season versus Jacksonville State

Normal- At 6-3, the Lady Bulldog softball team will get their first opportunity to play in front of the home crowd on "The Hill" Tuesday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m.
 
Head Coach Nakeya Hall will lead her troops for the first time in Bulldog Country versus the Lady Gamecocks of Jacksonville State University.

The visitors out of Jacksonville, Ala. will enter action versus the Maroon & White at 7-3 on the season and riding a three game win streak.
 
In their last three outings, the Gamecocks outscored their opponents 21-5 to secure three straight victories at the Charleston Southern Tournament.
 
The Lady Bulldogs will enter the contest at 6-3 after going 3-1 in the Hornet Invitational in Montgomery, Ala. this past weekend.
 
Leading the Maroon & White behind the plate thus far is the freshman duo of Taiya McInnes and Chelsey Ferguson out of California. They lead the team in batting average, slugging percentage, and hits. The duo has recorded a combined 24 hits and 18 runs batted in over nine games.
 
The three pitchers, Cassandra Brown (3-0), Anisa Britt (2-1) and Meaghan Gray (1-2) have combined for a total of 19 strikeouts and a .294 opposing batting average over 53.2 innings pitched.
 
Tuesday's action versus the Gamecocks will be a doubleheader with the first pitch coming at 1:00 p.m. The game can be followed via live stats courtesy of www.aamusports.com.
