Softball ready for Tiny Laster HBCU Classic

Normal- After securing a 5-4 victory over the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University, the Lady Bulldog softball team sets their sights on the "Magic City" and the Tiny Laster HBCU Classic.

This annual tournament is a MEAC/SWAC Challenge with teams from both the Mid-Eastern and Southwestern Athletic Conference's playing to decide who is top dog.

In this year's tournament, the Maroon & White will face competition from Miles College, Florida A&M University and Savannah State University.

The two-day event will take place at the top of the month of March, on the first and second. A&M will open their tournament schedule versus Miles College at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. The Miles Golden Bears currently stand at 0-10 on the year. Their last outing saw them swept by the University of Western Georgia in a doubleheader.

After facing Miles, the Maroon & White will take on the Rattlers of Florida A&M University. FAMU will enter the classic at 0-11.  North Florida handed the Rattlers an 8-3 defeat in their latest contest.

Lastly, in the battle of the conferences, the Lady Bulldogs will square off versus Savannah State University. The Tigers will enter tournament play coming off a 6-3 home victory over Brenau University.

In last season's classic, the Maroon & White fared well going 3-1 over four contests. The only lost came versus Savannah State, who they will get to face again this year. A&M will not only look to have a winning weekend but also to avenge a 4-3 loss handed to them by SSU last year.

MEAC

SWAC
