Lady Bulldogs Head to the War Eagle Classic

Normal- The Maroon & White softball team will head to Auburn, Ala. to participate in the War Eagle Classic softball invitational.

The Auburn University Tigers will host numerous teams in a three-day weekend tournament beginning Friday, March 14. Programs participating in the action include, Savannah State University, Radford University, Ball State University, and Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne along with the host Auburn and Alabama A&M.

The Lady Bulldogs at 8-13 on the season will play five total contests, taking on each of the participating schools once. Two games will be played on both Friday, and Saturday while the final game will be played on Sunday.

On Friday, March 14, A&M will take on Savannah State (10-9) in their second meeting of the season, before challenging the Ball State Cardinals (12-7). The rematch versus SSU is set for 9 a.m. while action versus BSU will begin at 11 a.m.

Saturday, March 15, the Maroon & White will test the Highlanders of Radford (4-12) at 9 a.m.; take a small break, then test IPFW (16-6) at 1 p.m.

To close tournament play, the Lady Bulldogs will face nationally ranked Auburn (20-4-1) at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Auburn currently holds the number 23 spot on the ESPN.com USA Softball poll.

All action will be played at the Jane B. Moore Field on the campus of Auburn University.
