Lady Bulldogs drop contest to Panthers

Longview, Texas- In their opening match of conference play, the Lady Bulldogs softball team fell 10-7 to the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M University.

The Maroon & White scored first grabbing a 1-0 lead in the first inning; however, by the end of four, they faced an 8-2 deficit.

The Lady Bulldogs would rally back to within one (8-7), by the top of the sixth inning. A&M strung together five runs, on four hits and four PV errors. Despite the rally, the Panthers topped A&M in opening league action.

A&M will return to the field Saturday, taking on Grambling State and Texas Southern on day two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference roundup at the Lear Athletic Complex.
