Softball Splits Day Two of SWAC Round Up

Longview, Texas- The Maroon & White went 1-1 on the second day of conference play in the SWAC Round-Up at the Lear Athletic Complex versus a pair of Tigers.

An explosive second inning in which A&M plated seven runs on six hits, allowed the Lady Bulldogs to take a 14-8 victory over the Tigers of Grambling State University. Leading the way behind the plate was
Anisa Britt who recorded her second homerun of the season good for two of her three RBI's in the game.

A&M recorded 14 runs, 18 hits, and 12 RBI's in the contest to improve to 9-18, 1-1 in conference play.

In the second outing of the day, the Maroon & White suffered an 8-0(five innings) loss as their bats cooled off significantly, against the Tigers of Texas Southern University.

Aleah Garth and Anisa Britt each recorded one hit for the Lady Bulldogs, as they fell to 9-19 (1-2).

The Maroon & White will look to close out round up play on top, as they take on the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (10:00 a.m.) and Southern University (12:30 p.m.) on the last day of competition.
