Softball welcomes the Lady Govs to “The Hill”

Normal- The 2014 Maroon & White softball team is set to host the Lady Govs of Austin Peay University on Wednesday, March 5, in double-header action at Lady Bulldog Field.

Head Coach Stephanie Paris will bring her 6-11 Lady Govs to "The Hill" to take on the 8-11 Lady Bulldogs.

The two programs met last season in Clarksville, Tennessee in which the home squad captured consecutive victories, 6-0 and 6-2 respectively.

The 6-11 team out of the Ohio Valley conference will enter Wednesday's action coming off a sweep of Trevecca Nazarene University. They return 10 players from the 2013 squad that defeated A&M last season.

The Lady Bulldogs will enter action after going 1-3 at the Tiny Laster HBCU Classic in Irondale, Alabama. Wednesday they will look to avenge last season's losses to the Austin Peay, and return to victory lane.

First pitch between the Lady Govs and Lady Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Lady Bulldog Field; action can be followed via live stats.
