GAMEDAY: Bulldogs vs. Alabama State in 74th annual Magic City Classic

BIRMINGHAM -- Throw out the records and, in some cases, throw out the friendships.

Well, at least for today.

It's Magic City Classic time.

The Ol' Gray Lady in Birmingham will be the scene for the 74th annual affair that blends football with food and fashion, unlike any other venue in the country.

The Bulldogs enter the game with a 2-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference and defending the trophy following last year's 37-36 win.

ASU is 3-3 in the SWAC, just ahead of A&M in the East Division - Alcorn State leads the division with a 3-1 record.

The Hornets lead the all-time series 39-36-3 and last year's win by A&M snapped the Bulldogs' three-game losing streak.

Kickoff is 2:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on WJAB-FM 90.9 with the pregame show starting at 2 p.m. Ted Dixie will handle the play-by-play with Bud McLaughlin and Michael Burns.
