Jordan Bentley is SWAC Newcomer of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Freshman Jordan Bentley has been making an impact on the Bulldogs' offense this season.

And his efforts have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference, who named him Newcomer of the Week.

Bentley rushed for 91 yards on 11 carries and scored his seventh rushing touchdown of the season - eighth overall - in last Saturday's 40-7 win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

His eight total touchdowns and 48 points are tops in the league and Bentley ranks third in rushing yards (576) and yards per game (82.3).

He is also the second-leading rusher in the nation among freshmen at FCS schools.
