Bentley named Hero Sports Freshman All-American

HUNTSVILLE -- It's still 2016 and another honor has gone to Bulldogs' running back Jordan Bentley.

The Guntersville native has been named to the Hero Sports FCS Freshman All-American team. He was also honored as SWAC Freshman of the Year and is also an All-SWAC second-team running back.

Bentley of Guntersville was the third-leading rusher among all FCS freshmen and 36th in the nation overall with 851 yards.

He was fourth in the SWAC in rushing at 77.4 yards per game and had 9 touchdowns rushing and one receiving.

Last season, Bentley rushed for more than 100 yards in three games and scored four touchdowns at Texas Southern.
