Softball To Host Jacksonville State Wednesday at 2 p.m.

HUNTSVILLE – The Alabama A&M softball team will play host to Jacksonville State Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lady Bulldog Softball.

AAMU enters Wednesday's game with a mark of 8-18 so far this season.

Last weekend, the Lady Bulldogs opened up in Southwestern Athletic Conference play hosting Texas Southern. In the three-game series, AAMU earned a 4-3 win over the Lady Tigers Friday, before dropping both contests to Texas Southern Saturday (Game 1: 4-6; Game 2: 0-7 in 6 inn.).

So far this season, Madi Pozzi leads AAMU with a .400 batting average. Eriel Lawson is hitting .375, Janae Adams is hitting .364, while Tamia Lee-Barbadillo is batting .308 with one double, two triples and eight RBI. Ariel Smith leads the team in RBI with 13 so far this season.

In the circle for the Lady Bulldogs, Caitlyn Hayden has a 5.04 ERA in 75 innings, a 5-7 record and a team-high 36 strikeouts. Rachel Sanders has tossed 28.2 innings, and has a 7.22 ERA and a 0-2 record.

Jacksonville State comes into Wednesday's game with a record of 17-8 overall. The Gamecocks split their doubleheader game last weekend against Kennesaw State, winning game one by the score of 15-5 and falling 3-4 in the second game.
