HUNTSVILLE – After a weekend on the road, the Alabama A&M University Softball team (12-23, 5-6 SWAC) are back at Lady Bulldog Field, as they welcome Alcorn State Lady Braves (13-23, 10-2 SWAC) to town for a three-game conference set.

The weekend begins on Friday with a 3 p.m. first pitch. Saturday's doubleheader is slated to begin at noon, and will be streamed on the SWAC Digital Network.

The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a 2-1 win over Mississippi Valley State. A&M fell to the Lady Devilettes 3-1 on Friday before securing both games on Saturday.

In game two of the doubleheader, the Lady Bulldogs came out dominating at the top of the first. Hansell got the first run of the game after Madi Pozzi was hit by pitch and advanced with bases loaded. A&M continued to take advantage of the Lady Devilettes errors by scoring Smith after Alferos was walked.

With bases loaded, Lavarsha Thigpen singled for a 2 RBI to score Ramos and Pozzi to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Devilettes got their first run of the day in the bottom of the first after an error by centerfield.
Both teams struggled in the second inning and were unable to add a run. Thigpen tripled in the third to score Alferos and extend the Lady Bulldogs lead by four. MVSU homered in the third to cut the lead to one.

Tamia Lee-Barbadillo responded with a homer in the fourth followed by a RBI triple from Ramos.

With the Lady Bulldogs up 7-4, the Lady Devilettes answered with a 3 RBI homer to tie the game for the first time at 7. They would then take an 8-7 lead in the bottom on the fourth after a single RBI. Another homer from the Lady Devilettes gave them a 9-7 over A&M.
