Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO, TENN. --- The Alabama A&M University softball dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Middle Tennessee at the Blue Raider Softball Complex Tuesday evening in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Lady Bulldogs fell 1-0 in game one to MTSU and slipped 2-0 in game two.
Alabama A&M (13-29, 6-7 SWAC) had six hits on the day with
Ariel Smith and
Viridiana Ramos pounding out doubles in game two.
In game one, both teams were held scoreless and were forced to an eighth inning. In the top of the eighth, the Lady Bulldogs Ramos singled down the left line.
Madi Pozzi then grounded out to second base to advance Ramos to second.
Lavarsha Thigpen would then sacrifice bunt to advance to Ramos before
Lauren Walker struck out.
With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the eighth, MTSU homered to right field to take a 1-0 and secure game one.
In game two, both teams struggled to get on the board until MTSU homered to center field in the bottom of the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. They would then single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth for one RBI to take a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Bulldogs attempted to battle back in the seventh with Pozzi leading off with a single to center field but it wouldn't be enough at the Lady Bulldogs were shut out the remainder of the inning.

The Lady Bulldogs will close out the regular season this weekend as they play host to Jackson State with a three-game conference series. Game one's first pitch is slated for 3:00 pm on Friday at Lady Bulldog Field.
