Dr. Hugine Extols Unity, Sacrifice to Bulldogs

HUNTSVILLE -- The Alabama A&M football team took their spots in Louis Crews Stadium, but it wasn't on the turf.

Instead, the nearly 100 student-athletes sat in the stands and heard an uplifting and inspiring message from A&M President Dr. Andrew Hugine Jr.

The occasion was the first day of football practice for the Bulldogs and Hugine extolled the virtues of practice, unity and sacrifice to the team.

The players hit the field later in the day for a nearly two-hour workout in helmets and shorts. They will return to practice at 10:30 a.m. Friday and they will practice in helmets and shoulder pads Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
