Women’s Tennis Falls at Alabama, 7-0

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-- The Alabama A&M women's tennis team got the 2018 season started Saturday night with a challenging match against the University of Alabama, falling 7-0 at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility in Tuscaloosa.

The Lady Bulldogs battled all match long in a difficult non-conference matchup with an SEC opponent, but ultimately fell to the Crimson Tide.

"I was happy with the way they competed and the effort they put into the match," Head Coach Willis Mbandi said.

Shrarre Smith put out the best performance as she won three games in the first set of her singles match against Kylie Moulin before dropping the match, 6-3, 6-0.

Overall, the Lady Bulldogs won eight games in their difficult season-opening match.
