Softball Hosts Prairie View A&M in Conference Opening Series

HUNTSVILLE-- The Alabama A&M University softball team (8-7) hosts Prairie View (2-12) for a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series this weekend at Lady Bulldog Field. The Lady Bulldogs and Lady Panthers will play a single game on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for noon.

Alabama A&M is coming into the series on a three-game winning streak, after defeating Robert Morris University in a doubleheader on March 7 and South Carolina State in a stunning 4-0 shutout on March 10.

After this weekend's games, Alabama A&M will have played just one of its three remaining SWAC series at home (April 6-7 vs. Alabama State; April 13-14 vs Mississippi Valley State).

Last season, the Lady Bulldogs were 17-31 overall and 8-7 in the SWAC.
