BIRMINGHAM--- The Alabama A&M University softball team returns to action Wednesday when it faces Samford in a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs will then prepare to face Southwestern Athletic Conference opponent Grambling State in a three-game weekend series, March 24-25, in Grambling, LA.

Wednesday's doubleheader will be live streamed via the SoCon Digital Network. The live stream and live stats links are provided below.

Alabama A&M & Samford have met six previous times, with the last time being on April 26, 2016 in a doubleheader at Samford. Samford earned wins by scores of 11-0 and 13-2. Samford currently holds a 6-0 series advantage over Alabama A&M.

Alabama A&M is currently 8-10 overall and 1-2 in league play. The Lady Bulldogs opened SWAC play with a home series against Prairie View A&M over the weekend going 1-2. After winning the first game, 8-5, Alabama A&M fell in the final two games by scores of 11-1 and 12-0.

For Alabama A&M this season, Madi Pozzi leads the team with a .370 batting average with one homerun, two doubles and three RBI. Jessica Alferos is hitting .342 with five doubles and six RBI.  Tamia Lee-Barbadillo leads the team in home runs with four.
 
In the circle, Lauren Hayden has a team-best 3.83 ERA. She leads the team with a 5-1 record, while Rachel Sanders has a 1-5 mark to go along with her 4.58 ERA.
 
Samford enters the week with a record of 7-23. The Bulldogs competed in the Belmont/TSU Invitational this past weekend, posting a record of 2-2 in the event. Samford earned wins over Tennessee State (11-6) and Rhode Island (5-2), and fell to Belmont (2-0) and St. Bonaventure (8-0).
