Gameday: Softball Host Robert Morris in Doubleheader

HUNTSVILLE--- The Alabama A&M University softball team (5-7) will look capture a victory on Wednesday, March 7 when they host Robert Morris University (Ill.) in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at the Lady Bulldog Field on the campus of Alabama A&M University.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped a non-conference match to Middle Tennessee State on Tuesday afternoon, falling 11-3.

Tamia-Lee Barbadillo led off the game for Alabama A&M with a solo shot to right, but the Blue Raiders responded with two runs in the bottom of the first. The Lady Bulldogs pulled within one after scoring on a throwing error from behind the plate, but Middle Tennessee pushed its lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the second.

Tiana Sanders slapped a RBI double in the third, but that was all the offense the Lady Bulldogs would generate.

Rachel Sanders took the loss, allowing 12 hits and nine runs (five earned) in 4.0 innings.

On the season, Lee-Barbadillo is batting .375 and Ariel Smith is batting .344.

Robert Morris brings a 1-2 record into today's contest. The Eagle's last contest was also on Tuesday, March 6, when they lost to Birmingham Southern, 13-0 in five innings.
