Men's track and field team posts several top-20 finishes at Bulldog Open

BIRMINGHAM — The Alabama A&M men's track and field team closed out the indoor regular season this weekend in Birmingham at the Bulldog Open.

Alabama A&M opened the meet strong on Friday with freshman Isaiah McCaulley taking 14^th place in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 13.62m (44-08.25).

Christian Bryant finished 15^th in the weight throw at 13.54m (44-05.25), while newcomer Demetrius Hurry took 18^th place for the Bulldogs.

Alabama A&M had three more top-20 finishes in the field events on Saturday. DeAndre Baker took sixth in the long jump with a leap of 6.75m (22-01.75), and he finished seventh in the triple jump at 13.49m (44-03.25).

Bryant also took 15^th in the shotput.

On the track, Tyrese McPhatter qualified through two rounds to reach the 60m dash finals with a time of 7.00. Teammate Donald Weakley qualified for the 60m dash semifinals.

Freshman Jatavion Boone reached the 60m hurdles, finishing fourth with a time of 8.43. He also ran a 50.76 in the 400m dash.

Joshua Browning finished 10th in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.73.
