MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama A&M closed out the fall portion of the 2021-22 season, finishing 5-of-5 at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Invitational following a 309-310-619 performance on Tuesday, November 16.
Sophomore
Felipe Gomez (Bogota, Columbia) led the Bulldogs as he tied for 13-of-33 with a 36-hole score of 75-75-150 while senior
Jason Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) was the next highest finisher in a tie for 19
th. Over the two days he shot a 75-77-152.
Alabama State shot a 581, breaking a Day 1 tie for second with Arkansas-Pine Bluff to claim the tournament title. UAPB would earn runner-up honors with a 584, followed by opening day leader Florida A&M (586), Prairie View (599) and the Bulldogs.
Alabama A&M will return to action in 2022 when they head back to the Montgomery, Alabama area for the ASU Spring Classic. That tournament will be played in nearby Prattville at the Robert Trent Jones Capitol Hill Golf Club from February 21-22.
