HOUSTON, Texas. – Alabama A&M wrapped up competition at the Track Kat Klash from November 5-7, finishing 16-of-16 with a 154.6 pin fall average over the course of 10 matches.
The Bulldogs went 0-10 in those qualifying matches, notching a pinfall total of 7,731in 50 games, putting them in the No.16 matchup on the final day of the tournament.
In that one A&M fell 1,147-1,123 to Jackson State before losing 862-765 to Texas Southern and 759-636 to Nebraska.
A stacked field that featured three nationally ranked programs would see No.5 North Carolina A&T take home the tournament title with No.1 Nebraska in second spot and over Sam Houston State while No.9 Louisiana Tech took fourth.
No.14 Delaware State finished in seventh position, while No.17 Central Missouri was eighth and No. 22 Prairie View took home 10
th place.
Individually, Tamyra Long finished 50-of-107 with a pinfall average of 165.00 and game-high of 192 while junior
Montaya Walton (Detroit, Mich.) was 51
st with an average of 164.80 and a high of 183. Junior
Nariya Jackson (Fort Wayne, Ind.) finished 62
nd having an average of 159.40 with a high of 179.
The Bulldogs will be back in action as they head to Montgomery, Alabama for the ISTAP Hornet Classic Klash from November 19-21.
