BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three top five finishes paced Alabama A&M women's indoor track & field as they returned to action at the Samford Invitational on Friday, February 12 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Freshman
Trinidee Hampton (West Memphis, Ark.) delivered the best performance of her young collegiate career as she placed 3-of-10 in the triple jump with a mark of 10.86-meters and added a 15-of-26 outing in the long jump (5.03m).
She was joined by senior
Danice Loney (Melbourne, Fla.) with another impressive performance in the pole vault, this time a 5-of-17 finish that saw her once again clear 3.50 meters. Freshman
Alliyah Jones (Evanston, Ill.) delivered the final top five finish, coming in 5-of-10 in the triple jump at 10.70-meters and was followed by junior
Jayla Neal (Atlanta, Ga.) in sixth place (10.47m).
Sophomore
Fabiona Jackson-Jenkins (Montgomery, Ala.) delivered a strong all-around performance as she was 9-of-24 in the 400-meters and 13-of-47 in the 200-meters (25.67).
In a quick turnaround, the Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow morning when they compete in the Samford Open at the CrossPlex.
