BATON ROUGE, La. – For the second straight day, Alabama A&M (2-2, 2-1 SWAC) delivered a sweep of a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foe as they downed Grambling (0-1, 0-1 SWAC) by a 4-0 score in an NCAA Division I women's tennis match on Sunday, February 28.
The dominance would start with doubles as juniors
Jasmine Boyd (Marion, Ind.) and
Anita Bozhko (Minsk, Belarus) posted a 6-1 decision over GU's Mikaila Coleman and Dana Galeano at the top spot while senior
Nthabiseng Mashego (Alabaster, Ala.) and junior
Ximena Duarte Ramirez (Asuncion, Paraguay) came away with a 6-2 win at No. 3 over Ana Ochoa and Natalie Malone.
It would be much the same in singles action as Boyd picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win over Ochoa and Bozhko took No. 1 with sets of 6-1, 6-0 over Paige Stanford. Not long after Duarte Ramirez closed out the 4-0 victory with a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Brittany Combest.
Alabama A&M returns to action on Saturday, March 6 when they host Southern. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
