BATON ROUGE, La. – Alabama A&M (1-2, 1-1 SWAC) was dominant from start to finish as they swept past Mississippi Valley State (0-1, 0-1 SWAC) in an NCAA Division I women's tennis match on Saturday, February 27.
The Bulldogs jumped out ahead as they claimed the doubles point with twin 6-0 victories, the first of those by junior
Jasmine Boyd (Marion, Ind.) and junior
Anita Bozhko (Minsk, Belarus) over Jeremyia Merritt and Toi Carter. Sophomore
Camila Ruiz Diaz (Asunncion, Paraguay) and junior
India Woods (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) then locked up the point over Traci Carter and Jazzalyn Miller.
In singles action it would be three straight 6-0, 6-0 decisions as Ruiz Diaz downed Stanley, sophomore
Neha Ghare (Pune, India) took down Toi Carter and Bozhko finished it off over Merritt for the 4-0 victory.
Alabama A&M is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, February 28 when they take on Grambling. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
