HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (9-18, 9-13 SWAC) returns to the postseason for the first time since 2017 as they have earned the No. 3 Seed out of the East Division and will open play against the No. 2 Seed from the West Division Grambling (15-25, 12-9 SWAC) on Wednesday, May 19.
Game time is set for 9 a.m. and will kick off the five-day tournament to be held locally in Madison at Toyota Field, home of the Double-A Rocket City Trash Pandas. The winner of that game will face either No. 1E Jackson State or No. 4W Texas Southern at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 20 with the loser of both of those games meeting in an elimination game at 9 a.m. that day.
The Bulldogs come into the tournament having dropped their last two series following a Division I Era record-tying seven game win streak. GSU, meanwhile, has lost five straight following a sweep by Arkansas-Pine Bluff from May 6-8.
