Trip to Texas Southern Kicks Off Swing Through Lone Star State For Alabama A&M Women's Basketball

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (4-11, 2-3 SWAC) women's basketball begins a two-game Texas road swing beginning with a trip to Texas Southern (3-10, 3-3 SWAC) on Saturday, January 22. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in Houston, Texas.

The Bulldogs come in having dropped their last three contests, falling 61-59 against Alcorn State (1/8), 79-52 vs. Jackson State (1/10) and 74-69 at Alabama State (1/15). Meanwhile, TSU dropped their last outing 92-68 at JSU (1/17) following a 100-66 win against Mississippi Valley State (1/10) and a 63-60 decision at Alcorn (1/15).

In 30 all-time meetings since 2006-07, which is when available records date back to, the Tigers hold an 18-12 advantage. A&M won 10 of the first 12 meetings from January 27, 2007 through February 27, 2012 before Texas Southern took the next 16 from January 26, 2013 through February 29, 2020. That would be a stretch that would end last year as the Bulldogs notched a season sweep with a 73-50 win in Houston on February 1 and a 64-36 decision in Huntsville on March 1.

Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video, with the latter airing on AT&T Sportsnet. Full postgame coverage of all the action will also be available on www.AAMUSports.com, the official online home of Alabama A&M Athletics, following the final horn.
