Alabama A&M Women's Basketball Set to Host Alcorn State in Return to Elmore

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (4-8, 2-0 SWAC) women's basketball returns home following a season-high eight game road swing as they host Alcorn State (1-9, 0-1 SWAC) on Saturday, January 8. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Elmore Gymnasium.

A&M comes in riding a three-game win streak, the last two of which came in league play with a 58-48 victory at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1/3) and a 65-56 decision at Mississippi Valley State (1/5). Meanwhile, the Braves have lost their last two but those are the only games they have played since December 15, falling that day by a 100-36 score at LSU and 75-49 at Jackson State (1/3) in their most recent outing.

In 32 meetings since the 2006-07 season, which is when available records date back to, the teams are dead even at 16-16. The Bulldogs won that first meeting 69-53 on January 20, 2007 and had won six in a row from February 17, 2018 through March 10, 2020 before dropping a 73-64 decision in Lorman, Mississippi on February 22, 2021. Alcorn holds the longest win streak in the series history having claimed seven in a row from January 26, 2015 through January 20, 2018.

Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video with full postgame coverage of all the action will also be available on www.AAMUSports.com, the official online home of Alabama A&M Athletics, following the final horn.
