HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (0-0, 0-0 SWAC) softball is set to open the 2022 season at the Lion Classic hosted by Southeastern Louisiana from February 11-12 in Hammond, Louisiana.
 
The Bulldogs will kick things off with a 1 p.m. first pitch against Ohio Valley Conference Regular Season Champion Southeast Missouri State (0-0, 0-0 OVC) on Friday, February 11 before facing Nicholls State (0-0, 0-0 Southland) right after that game and again at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12. They will then wrap up the tournament against host SELA (0-0, 0-0 Southland) at 5 p.m. later that day.
 
A&M comes in to the 2022 campaign following an 11-19 season a year ago while SEMO went 30-17 overall and 23-6 to win the OVC. Nicholls State, meanwhile, went 12-28 and 5-22 in the Southland Conference and the Lions were 28-23 overall and 14-10 in the Southland.
