Alabama A&M Softball Set To Host Bethune-Cookman For First Time In Weekend Series

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The second-to-last home series for Alabama A&M (9-17, 4-7 SWAC) softball will see Bethune-Cookman (11-22, 6-6 SWAC) visit Bulldog Field for the first time in recorded program history as the two meet as Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foes for the first time from April 8-9. The clubs will play the doubleheader portion beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 8 with the finale coming at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.

A&M is coming off of a series victory at rival Alabama State, notching a 12-7 win in the opener on Friday, April 1 and a commanding 11-1 five inning decision on Saturday, April 2. ASU notched a 9-1 win in between those games.

B-CU heads to Huntsville on a two-game losing streak, most recently falling in a pair of 2-1 decisions to Stetson (4/6) and Florida A&M (4/4). Before that they took the first two from FAMU by 3-0 and 6-1 scores on Sunday, April 3.

SERIES HISTORY
It is a short series history between the programs as the only meeting on record dates to March 22, 2005 when the clubs met in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Wildcats took both of those games, claiming 7-1 and 6-0 wins. This will be the team's first meeting in Huntsville.
