Alabama A&M Releases 2023 Softball Schedule

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Alabama A&M softball head coach Cassandra Brown and the program have announced the 2023 softball schedule on Wednesday. The 43-game slate features 13 home contests, along with a trio of tournaments and four Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series at Bulldog Field.
 
The Bulldogs will be tested throughout, with 20 non-conference games on the year, including three tournaments before conference play.
 
The 2023 slate will get a started in Vicksburg, Mississippi, in the River City Classic (February 11-12), with A&M facing Grambling State, Alcorn State, Xavier (La.), and Southeastern Baptist over the two-day span.
 
After facing Southeastern Baptist, A&M will compete in the Roar City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee as they take on Tennessee State, Bradley, and North Alabama on the weekend of February 17-19, before the HBCU Heritage Classic, held in Montgomery. The Heritage Classic will see the Bulldogs face South Carolina State, Southern, Alcorn State, and Florida A&M over a three-day weekend starting on Friday, February 24 at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.
 
Alabama A&M will host Oakwood in their home opener in a midweek non-conference matchup on Wednesday, March 1, before playing in the Defend the Bluff Classis, their last tournament of the regular season, where they will play both Louisiana Christian and Southern twice (March 3-4).
 
After a road matchup against UT Martin on (March 8), the Bulldogs will kick off their SWAC schedule with a three-game road series against Bethune-Cookman (March 10-11) prior to their first series at home as they host rival Alabama State at Bulldog Field (March 17-18).
 
The remaining conference slate includes home series against Mississippi Valley State (March 24-26), Florida A&M (April 7-8) and close with Bethune-Cookman (April 28-30). Meanwhile, they take on Jackson State (March 31-April 2), Mississippi Valley State (April 14-16) and Alabama State (April 21-23).
