STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Alabama A&M women's tennis team is set to hit Starkville, Mississippi this weekend for a non-conference match against SEC opponent Mississippi State on Friday, February 10. The contest will be held at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre and is set to start at 3 p.m.
Friday's match is the first in the month of February and just the fourth so far this spring for Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs picked up a win against Tennessee State on Jan. 22 and have dropped games to Lipscomb on Jan. 20 and Mercer on Jan 28.
Mississippi State will close out an 11-game home stand on Friday, having gone 8-1 so far on the season in Starkville. When last seen, the Bulldogs defeated both Memphis (4-1) and Jackson State (7-0) on Sunday, February 5.
The two programs have met twice in school history, with Mississippi State holding a 2-0 edge after defeating A&M in their last meeting 7-0 on March 15, 2015.
