BOWLING GREEN, Ky. __ The Alabama A&M women's tennis program (6-13, 5-2) fell 7-0 to Western Kentucky (13-7, 1-1) at the WKU Tennis Complex in their final non-conference match of the season on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers took the doubles point with the clinching decision on court three as
Alicia Owegi and
Ariadna Ondo Cerezo fell 6-4 after
Camila Ruiz Diaz and
Neha Ghare fell on court two 6-1.
In singles,
Yana Dhamija fell in straight sets at 6-2, 6-1 for the first loss at the fourth flight, before Ondo Cerezo fell by the same scores at the sixth flight. After the first two courts finished, Ruiz Diaz fell 6-2 in her opening set before a 6-3 score in the second, followed by Owegi at court five who also fell in straight sets at 6-1, 6-0.
Meanwhile, the final two Bulldogs put up a close fight, going three sets each, as
Jasmine Boyd won her second set 6-3 after a loss in the first. The senior went on to lose the final set 10-8. Ghare also fell in a tough three-game battle, ultimately falling in the third.

The Bulldogs will return to play for their next regular season match on Saturday, April 1 at the JSU Tennis Center as they face SWAC opponent Jackson State.
