Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __ Alabama A&M women's tennis captured its fourth straight conference victory with a 6-0 sweep at home over Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs ended a four-game slide with the win, gaining an advantage early with the double's point.
Alicia Owegi and
Neha Ghare teamed up to win the first game at No. 3, followed by
Deja Brown and
Camila Ruiz Diaz winning 6-0 at No. 2. The pairing of
Jasmine Boyd and
Yana Dhamija went unfinished leading 5-0 at court one.
At Nos. 1-4 singles, A&M was even more impressive, with all four Bulldogs rattling off straight-set wins and not allowing any points. Boyd, Brown, Ruiz Diaz and Ghare all swept their opponents to secure the conference win.
Wednesday's match was the first of three straight conference matches for Alabama A&M, facing Florida A&M, Prairie View A&M, and Alcorn State over the weekend in Montgomery.
