HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M softball will return to Montgomery and the Barbara Williams Softball Complex for the second time this week in preparation for a three-game rivalry series against Alabama State.

The battle will begin with a 5 p.m. first pitch on Friday evening, followed by a 3 p.m. start for game two and 1 p.m. on Sunday in the series finale.

The Bulldogs (20-14, 11-6 SWAC) enters the weekend on a five-game win streak after sweeping Mississippi Valley State before also taking both games of a makeup doubleheader against Florida A&M on Wednesday in Montgomery.

A&M is currently third in the SWAC East, one game back in the win column behind both Bethune-Cookman and the Hornets.

Alabama State (24-18, 12-6 SWAC) is coming off a 6-4 road win over Georgia Tech for their second straight win and currently holds sole possession of first place in the SWAC standings.

The two programs met earlier this season in Huntsville, as the Bulldogs picked up the final game of the series with a 4-3 win to avoid the sweep. After playing game one on Thursday, March 16, the series was postponed due to rain and finished with a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 21.
