HBCU+ National Player of the Year Press Release

THE HILL | Alabama A&M University senior offensive tackle Carson Vinson added another honor to his growing resume on Wednesday as he was named an HBCU+ National Player of the Year Finalist.
 
Vinson is one of 10 finalist for the Urban Edge Network's inaugural award, which will be presented to the outstanding player from 21 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in FCS college football.
 
All positions are eligible for the award. The recipient, to be selected by an eight-voter panel involved in HBCU FCS coverage, will be announced on Dec. 9 and invited to the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Banquet on Jan. 4 in Frisco, Texas.
 
Vinson, who became the first HBCU player invited to the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl last week after the team's practice inside Louis Crews Stadium, is a left tackle that has played in and started in all 48 games in his collegiate career. This season, the Morrisville, N.C. native has started in every game. 
 
This season, Vinson has helped the Bulldog offense rank tops in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in total offense (454.4 yards per game) and passing offense (260.5 yards per game). In addition, the Bulldogs are third in the conference in rushing offense at 193.9 yards per game.
 
He has an 89 percent overall offensive line grade with 61 total knockdowns and allowed just one sack, which was against SEC opponent Auburn in the season opener.
