JACKSON, Miss. | The final day of the River City Classic has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the Jackson, Miss. area on Sunday as the Alabama A&M University softball team was scheduled to conclude play against Alcorn State and Grambling State.
 
Alabama A&M head softball coach Ray Foreman said the games are not expected to be made up.
 
The Bulldogs went 1-1 during the opening day, defeating Arlington Baptist, 8-0, in six innings, but ended the very long day with an 8-2 loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
 
Alabama A&M returns to action next weekend (Feb. 16-18) in Covington, Ga. at the HBCU Collegiate Softball Invitational. The Bulldogs will meet Fort Valley State and Howard on Friday, followed by games against South Carolina State and Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. AAMU concludes the weekend next Sunday against North Carolina Central.
