Alabama A&M Drops Decision to Western Kentucky

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University women's tennis team continued its home slate on Wednesday as the Bulldogs dropped a 4-0 decision to Western Kentucky at the AAMU Tennis Courts.
 
Western Kentucky (10-7) won the doubles point, sweeping all three matches.
 
The Hilltoppers sealed the victory with singles wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5.
 
All three unfinished singles matches were either in the third set or on the verge going to a fifth set.
 
At No. 1, Ntokozo Zungu won the first set, 6-3, over Sofia Blanco, but dropped the second, 6-0, as the match headed to a third set. At No. 5, Hannah Nagpall dropped the first set, 6-1, to Anna-Maria Kopecka, but rebounded for a 6-3 second-set win. Meanwhile, at No. 6, Sofia Sotelo Raya lost the opening set, 6-2, to Mariana Zegada, but led 4-1 in the second set before the match was called.
 
UP NEXT
Alabama A&M (4-12) concludes its Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular slate on Saturday against Jackson State. First serve is set for 10 a.m. from the AAMU Tennis Courts.
