THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University football team concluded fall camp and will now shift its attention to the season opener after Saturday's Maroon & White Scrimmage at Louis Crews Stadium.
The Bulldogs worked in approximately 90 plays during the annual scrimmage, which capped a day of festivities as Alabama A&M held its Fan Day before the game.
"We've got a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball," AAMU head coach
Connell Maynor said. "The defense played well today, especially in the red zone, while holding the offense to a lot of field goals. We need to get a lot better on offense, from the execution from the quarterback position to the running back to the offensive line. It all starts up front, and those guys are supposed to be our strength, but they didn't play too good tonight."
Alabama A&M begins the 2024 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Auburn and Maynor said the team still has a lot of work to do ahead of its season opener.
"We've got to get better," Maynor said. "We've got to watch this tape and learn from it. Don't worry about your good plays, we expect you do that. It's your bad plays that you've got to focus on, get better and don't make that same mistake again."
