THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to Middle Tennessee State University on Thursday at Alumni Memorial Coliseum in the longest road swing of the season.
The Bulldogs were led by senior Fatima Ramirez, who notched 10 kills with only three errors. Huntsville native Bailey Duckett was not far behind, tallying nine terminations of her own. AAMU saw a balanced defense, with Ramirez, Michell Jerez and Saldy Amparo-Smith tying for the lead in digs, with five a piece. Junior Grace Tapscott totaled 13 assists during the match.
The Blue Raiders were paced by Kiera Booth, who recorded 14 kills on 19 swings and one service ace. Emma Nelson terminated 13 balls and one solo block. MTSU now leads AAMU in the all-time series 5-0.
Alabama A&M looks to begin their conference slate on Sunday at 2pm against Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana.
