BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M bowling junior Rose Ugbinada and senior Tamyra Long were both named to the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Second Team, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Both Long and Ugbinada were named to the All-tournament team earlier this season at the Virginia Union Invitational, where the Bulldogs placed first. Long also found herself on the All-Tournament team after AAMU placed first at The Hornet Classic, with Ugbinada just one place below.
Ugbinada, a Vancouver, Washinton native, averaged 186.29 during conference play, while Long, a Chattanooga, Tennessee native averaged 186.11.
Prairie View A&M's Jayda Gordon claimed SWAC Bowler of the Year while Alabama State's Jenna McKnight took home SWAC Freshman of the Year accolades. Alabama State head coach Andrew Chatmon and Southern head coach Barry Doyle were both named SWAC Co-Coach of the Year.
The 2025 SWAC Bowling Tournament is set to be held March 21-23 in Arlington, Texas at the Bowling ITRC. Â
