JACKSON, Miss. | In their first of three-season opening tournaments, the Alabama A&M softball team start their 2025 slate on the road in the River City Classic on February 7-9 at the JSU Softball Field in Jackson, Mississippi.
Hosted by Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) defending champions Jackson State, the Classic will be attended by AAMU, Alcorn State, Arlington Baptist, Grambling State and Mississippi Valley State.The Bulldogs will face Arlington Baptist in the first game of the weekend, before taking on conference foes Alcorn State and Grambling State in four games over the three days.
The Alabama A&M softball team was selected to finish fifth in the Eastern Division and junior outfielder Dakota Daniel was named to the SWAC Preseason Second Team. The Bulldogs finished 9-27 overall last season, including 5-19 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play, and posting wins over Alabama State, Jackson State, Tuskegee and Florida A&M.
In addition to three consecutive tournaments, the 2025 swing features 11 home games at the Bulldog Softball Field. The Bulldogs highlight the season by participating in the second annual Leonard Moody HBCU Collegiate Invitational as well as the University of Texas Tournament where they will face the host team, the University of South Florida and New Mexico State.
