THE HILL | After a nearly three-hour match, the Alabama A&M women's tennis team dropped their first home contest after falling 7-0 to Jacksonville State on Saturday afternoon.

In a gloomy home opener, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome the visitors in the doubles session, dropping courts two and three to 6-2 decisions.

Jax State swept courts two and three but were forced to seven-point tie breaks on courts five and six. Both Ntokozo Zungu and Gabrielle Henderson forced a third set, with Zungu ultimately falling 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 to Lea Erenda of Jax State and Henderson suffering a 4-6, 6-3, 10-12 loss to the Gamecocks' Anna Syrova at fourth singles.
