THE HILL | In a windy matinee match, the Alabama A&M women's tennis team fell 4-0 to the Troy University Trojans on Saturday.
The visiting team claimed the first court of doubles 6-0. At second doubles, the Bulldogs took a 3-1 lead before the Trojans ultimately came back to win the court and the doubles point, 6-4. Though the final court went unfinished, the Maroon and White were in a battle, as both teams went point-for-point, ending the contest at 5-4 with TU owning the slim lead.
Using the momentum from the doubles session, Troy quickly claimed courts one,
three and four to clinch the 4-0 victory. Though the match went unfinished, Naomi Blanks won the first set at six singles, while the Bulldogs were in control of the second set at second singles.
The Bulldogs end the weekend by playing the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free to the public and fans can park in the lots behind T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. Fans wishing to live stream can do so via Track.Tennis and live scoring can be found on IonCourt.
