THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University softball team returns to The Hill to host Southwestern Athletic Conference rival Alabama State for the final home series of the regular season.
The Bulldogs return home after dropping a three-game series to the Florida A&M Rattlers. AAMU dropped slim 8-6. 7-6, 6-4 decisions.
The Hornets claimed a 2-1 series decision to Jackson State winning 3-1 before dropping a 10-2 five inning decision before rebounding 5-1 in the final game. Alabama State then fell 18-5 against Jacksonville State in a midseason non-conference game.
The Bulldogs and Hornets met earlier this season, where AAMU claimed a 2-1 victory in Montgomery. The Bulldogs claimed a 5-2 victory in the first game, highlighted by a homerun from Akyndra Montalvo that added three RBI's. The Hornets grabbed a slim 7-6 win after scoring three runs in the fifth inning to claim the victory. The Bulldogs bounced back in the final game of the series, sailing past ASU 8-4.
Thursday's double header is set to begin at 1 p.m. with the second game commencing at 3 p.m. Friday's game will be Senior Day, with a recognition ceremony to begin at 11:30 and first pitch Noon. All games will be live streamed via Bulldogs All-Access.
