KOHLER, Wis. | Niall Bagnall and
Lukas Lange recorded opening-round 74s as the Alabama A&M University men's golf team sits third after Monday's first round of the PGA Works Collegiate Championship at Whistling Straits.
Bagnall and Lange shot just 2 over par during the opening round to sit tied for seventh, with Southern's Thomas Reid and Prairie View A&M's Jaden Thompson and Jacob Holloway. During the first round, Bagnall registered three bogeys and one birdie, while Lange finished with three birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey.
Kourey Patterson is tied for 24
th after shooting a 6-over-par 78, while
Samuel Boddie fired a 7-over 79 and is tied for 29
th.
Alabama A&M shot 17 over (305) and sits alone in third place. Arkansas-Pine Bluff leads the field by 10 strokes, shooting a 291, while Southern fired a 301 to hold down second place. Chicago State, Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M are tied for fourth with 306s, while Tennessee State (307), North Carolina A&T State (310) and Maryland Eastern Shore (315) round out the nine-team field.
Bryar Moss, of Tennessee State, leads the individual field by two strokes as he fired a 3-under-par 69. Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Jose Berenguel is second at 1 under.
