Coriah Beck and
Kalia Walker will represent Alabama A&M University at the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference annual SWAC Women's Basketball Media Day at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Birmingham.
Alabama A&M head women's basketball coach Dawn Thornton, who begins her second season on The Hill, will join the rest of the SWAC head coaches to address the media about the upcoming 2025-26 women's basketball season.
Kalia Walker, a First Team All-SWAC selection a year ago, averaged a team-best 14.6 points and 2.7 rebounds. She surpassed the 1,000-point plateau toward the end of the regular season and shot 37.9 percent from the field and 81.4 percent from the free-throw line. The Alexander, Ark. native registered a career-high 30 points in a non-conference win at North Alabama last season.
Coriah Beck missed all of the 2024-25 season recovering from an injury. During the 2023-24 season at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the Memphis, Tenn. native averaged 12.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. She shot 37.1 percent from the floor and 33.1 percent from behind the 3-point line. In addition, during her last season playing, Beck posted a career-high 32 points at McNeese State and 11 assists at Mississippi Valley State.
The Alabama A&M women's basketball program is coming off a historic season that saw the Bulldogs win 21 games for the first time during the Division I era and will look to repeat the success from a year ago.
Alabama A&M begins the season with an exhibition game, playing host to UAH in the return of the Mayor's Cup. The regular tips off with back-to-back home games, starting on Nov. 5 against Talladega. For the second consecutive season, AAMU will welcome an SEC opponent to the Event Center as Ole Miss comes to The Hill on Nov. 7.
Season Ticket renewals are currently on sale and the deadline to guarantee seat locations for existing season ticket holders is Sept. 30. In order to renew season tickets, fans can visit aamusports.com or call the AAMU Ticket Office at: (256) 372-7255 or (256) 372-7254.
