NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The Alabama A&M University women's cross country team had three runners place within the Top 15 as the Bulldogs finished second during the Michael Pretorious Invitational at Percy Warner Park on Saturday morning.
The Bulldogs posted 61 points to earn second as Lipscomb won the meet with 28 points. Austin Peay (64 points) was third, followed by Trevecca Nazarene (84 points), Lane (128 points), Tennessee State (179 points), Fisk (205 points) and LeMoyne-Owen (225) rounded out the field.
Laura Avila led AAMU with a fifth-place finish, logging a time of 19:13.41, while
Sanyae Gibson was right behind her, placing sixth in 19:14.85.
Brianna Samuels finished 12
th, marking a time of 19:40.00, while
Nevaeh Carrizal was 17
th in 20:13.50.
Minka Isom crossed in 20:39.38 to finish 22
nd and
Kayla Fluker was 33
rd, with a time of 22:50.53.
Austin Peay's Sydney Freeman won the individual race, registering a time of 18:31.20.
Alabama A&M returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 as the Bulldogs compete at the Upstate Cross Country Invitational at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
