BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University freshman outfielder
Jaliyah Grigsby was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Softball Hitter of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Grigsby batted .545 during the week as Alabama A&M went 2-2. She went 6-for-11 at the plate, with three home runs, one double, along with four runs scored and 10 RBI. In a win over Oakwood, Grigsby went 3-for-3, with a pair of homers, six RBI and two runs scored.
Southern's Jordynn Jennings and Prestaisha White were selected the SWAC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Week, respectively.
Alabama A&M returns to Bulldog Field on Friday in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series opener against Bethune-Cookman. First pitch against the Wildcats is scheduled for 2 p.m.
