BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University women's tennis team earned a number two seed in the 2026 Women's Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament.

The Bulldogs dropped just one conference match, falling in a 4-0 decision to Jackson State. AAMU swept Florida A&M, Mississippi Valley State, Grambling State, Alabama State, Alcorn State, Bethune-Cookman, and Southern.Â

Alabama A&M will face Bethune-Cookman on Friday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals round.

Jackson State enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed (8-0, SWAC) while Alabama State claimed the No. 3 seed (6-2, SWAC). Southern claimed the No. 4 seed (5-3, SWAC) in the tournament followed by No. 5 seed Florida A&M (4-4, SWAC). Alcron  (3-5, SWAC) and Bethune-Cookman (2-6, SWAC) will enter the tournament as the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds respectively. Mississippi Valley State (1-7, SWAC) and Grambling State (0-8, SWAC) claimed the final two tournament seeds and will enter the tournament as the No. 7 and No.8 seeds respectively.Â
The 2026Â SWAC Women's Tennis Tournament is scheduled to be played on April 17-19th at City Park Tennis Center located in New Orleans, La.
